Apparently the wedding Fatiha train began yesterday, Friday, September 13,
2013. While most people were thinking the event was all of today, Saturday,
September, 2013 some major part of the 2 days event took place yesterday.
Prior to this week there had been the bridal party though.
Check out below the programme of event of the Nikah ceremony between the
Inspector General of Police and his beloved Zarah as it happened yesterday
Friday, September 13, 2013.
Dila & Nalla (Bride had her henna done, which is the body decoration common
amongst the Northerners & some other tribes round the world, amidst
drumming etc)- 11:00 am - 12 noon.
Walima (a wedding reception after the Nikah, where Islamic preaching about
women's role in Islam is mostly done) - 2:00pm - 5pm (venue-ThisDay
Dome)
Wushe Wushe -(the Cultural night, here the dress code for the bridesmaids was
blue & black Wagambari)-8:30 pm (venue-ThisDay Dome)
Dress Code was- White Laffaya/veil, which was for the mothers & sisters and
most guests.
Then the Programme of event for today, Saturday, September 14, 2013 goes as
follows:
Kalatul (Bridal Hair Wash)- 11 am.
Kususuram(Exchange of Gift/Lete-this is the suitcases of clothes, shoes etc
presented to the wife (the friends & some family members would collect and
check out the gifts)- 2:00 pm.
Fero Zayeta/ Kalawa/ Presentation of bride in Cultural Attire. Here she would
wear gorgeous Kanuri attire and with plenty of Gold as a show-off - 5:00pm.
Fero Gota (Conveyance of bride to her new home)- 6:00pm.
So as we speak now. The Bridal Hair Washing is on going.
There would be an exclusive Dinner later on tonight at the International
Conference Center, Abuja after all the traditional wedding rite must have
ended. The wedding photographer we hear is the one & only Kelechi Amadi-
Obi, while the day's MC is the Julius 'the Genius' Agwu.
