Out of the 12 people eleven(11) where Muslims and are to be tried by an Islamic court while one(1) was a Christain who is to be tried under secular law.
The law has been commmended in various quarters, both by opposition and supporters of the Presidency. The  eleven(11) muslim suspects are to be tried under the Islamic Court and if convicted may be sentenced to death by stoning according to Islamic Law.
