AREGBESOLA ENDORSED FOR SECOND TERM

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade and workers under the aegis of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Osun State have endorsed the second term ambition of Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
The endorsement of Aregbesola by the Ooni and the TUC was made in Ile-Ife at the weekend when the governor paid a courtesy visit to Oba Sijuwade in his palace in Ile-Ife.
The royal father said his open endorsement of Aregbesola was premised on the developmental projects executed by Aregbesola’s administration in the state in less than three years.
The monarch, who is also the permanent president of the state Council of Traditional Rulers, said Governor Aregbesola merits a second term in office considering his lofty achievements.
Also, the state Chairman of the TUC, Mr. Francis Adetunji said there had not been a governor in Osun State who demonstrated as much love for workers in the state as Aregbesola had done.
The TUC chairman said: “Workers in the state had never had it so good. We are grateful to the governor and he can count on our support. We shall support him to rule the state for the second term.”
Meanwhile, the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the open endorsement of Governor Rauf Aregbesola for a second term in office by Oba Sijuwade as a good omen and a confirmation of the peoples’ attestation of Governor Aregbesola’s lofty achievements.
The APC’s Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy in the state, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, said for the calibre of the Ooni of Ife to have endorsed Aregbesola for a second term in office showed that the gods and the people had spoken.
Oyatomi, therefore, urged the people of the state to hearken to the voice of wisdom from the palace of the source.
He said the open endorsement of Aregbesola for a second term in office by Oba Sijuwade showed that the traditional institution in the state also appreciated the developmental projects executed by Aregbesola’s administration.
Also, Oyatomi hailed the firm decision of the civil servants in the state who had come out openly to endorse the governor’s second term ambition.
The APC spokesman said the open declaration by the chairman, TUC in the state, should be considered as the voice of the masses of the state.
He urged all the people of the state to support the governor in his desire to rule the state again and thereby continue with his lofty and people-oriented projects.
