THE U.S NAVY ADDED ANOTHER POWERFUL NUCLEAR POWERED TOY TO THE FAMILY.


The U.S Navy, added another expensive nuclear powered warship to the family, the new Gerald R. Ford ,it will be designated CVN 78, making it the lead ship of the Gerald R. Ford class. Named after Gerald Ford, the 38th U.S. president, and the daughter, Susan Ford Bales, will be present on the day of its official launching, she will serve as the ship's sponsor, break a champagne bottle against a plate welded to the hull, and officially christen the ship.
The Ford class is designed to provide increased war fighting capability with approximately 700 fewer crew members for decreased total ownership cost, according to the Pentagon.

FEATURES

The Ford will have a host of new features and designs, such as a new NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, ELECTROMAGNETIC AIRCRAFT LAUNCHING SYSTEM, ADVANCED ARRESTING GEAR ,DUAL BAND RADAR , AND ALL ELECTRIC AUXILIARIES. It is designed for a 50-year service life with one mid-life refueling complex overhaul, AND MANY OTHER SECRET STUFF YOU DON'T EXPECT THE US NAVY TO TELL YOU...LOL...I DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING.

The Ford will replace the USS Enterprise, which was inactivated last year. With this new addition, the U.S. Navy maintains a 11- ship fleet of super carriers.
