Onitsha witnessed chaos today as the entire market was kept in constant as the youth of the area protests the death of their brother who is a staff at the Anambra State Transport Agency (ASTA ) who was killed by a trailer driver who was believed to be from the North and an Hausa man.
The main problem aroused when the Transport agents tried to stop him, he refused and one of the agent jumped inside the truck , trying to force him to stop, instead, he speed off with the agent, and killed him on the way, but , not knowing that the officials made phone calls to others at Asaba bridge , to others ahead to stop the truck, on seeing and stopping him at Asaba head bridge, they found out he has killed the agent.
The army, which are of course Hausa soldiers, immediately sneaked him away from the crowd, before they could descend on him but, the other Hausa traders there, ran into nearby police stations and barracks for safety, before upper iweka boys arrived.
